Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.


We are looking for a Production Planner to join our busy and growing organisation. The Production Planner will organise production according to the demand and quality standards, ensuring that the goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner and providing a first-class support function to the despatch, warehouse, internal and external customers, ensuring all vehicles are loaded and despatched in line with customer’s requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products and assets.
  • Manage MRP Messages in line with the SAP MRP System
  • Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Manage/Review safety stock levels.
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
  • Manage lead time requests from the sales channels.
  • Schedule shift according to production needs.
  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within labour KPI.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Extensive product knowledge of Apex & Link Products
  • PC Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • SAP experience
  • Confident communicator.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Strong numerical skills.
