Senior Infrastructure Analyst

Salary: £45,000 tp £55,000 per annum dependent on experience + on call allowance of c£1,500 (1 in 4 weeks)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid Working (2 days from the office)

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Analyst to join us on permanent basis. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is used to coordinating a small team of technicians and managing their workload and performance.

The candidate will be responsible, for providing technical support for the West Brom I.T. system. Evaluating and assessing the impact of reported issues, recommending and implementing resolutions. The role requires a degree of analytical and constructive thinking to tackle a wide variety of challenging I.T. related issues. In addition,


Key responsibilities are:


  • Support and maintenance of the I.T. infrastructure.
  • Support and maintenance for Windows.
  • Support and maintenance for Virtualisation Infrastructure (VMWare).
  • Support and maintenance for Linux platforms.
  • Assist in the resolution of assigned calls made to the I.T. Service desk.
  • Assist in the recovery of the Societies systems during Business Continuity testing and in the event of a Disaster itself.
  • Provide out of hours support for I.T. systems.
  • Ensuring Security procedures are followed and advise on I.T. security related issues.
  • Advise on technical issues to immediate and senior management.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers to resolve I.T. related issues.
  • Manage allocated workload and issues to meet project timescales.
  • Assessing and implementing new technologies and presenting results.
  • Assist in capacity planning tasks.
  • Assist in ensuring Service Level Agreements are monitored and met.
  • Producing quality documentation.
  • Providing assistance to other areas of the IT Service & Solutions department as necessary including areas not detailed above.


The skills and experience required are:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Server Admin Support role although consideration will be given to candidates who have knowledge of the below technologies and are currently in a similar role.
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of Virtualisation technologies, VMware.
  • Experience of Red Hat Linux Operating systems.
  • Able to automate system management tasks using Windows Powershell.
  • A proven track record of resolving IT technical issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain contact with stakeholders wherever necessary.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to coach junior members of the Technical team.
  • Ability to produce detailed reports on technology roadmaps and emerging technologies for review by senior decision makers.
