Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Accountant, and if you have answered yes to the above then this may be the opportunity for you.

Directly accountable to a Qualified Accountant, you will, from the very beginning, be involved in work feeding directly into areas which are of strategic importance to the Council. You will be numerate and able to work as part of the Finance Team to tight deadlines. You will be equally comfortable working on an individual basis or as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be involved in driving change through Finance, with responsibility for specific projects aimed at improving processes and controls. This will require strong organisational skills and a clear ability to scrutinise and really add value to processes and controls.

As a leading source of information and analysis for services, strong communication skills are paramount, as is a clear understanding of customer requirements.

We will provide on the job training in addition to professional training to support you to achieve a professional accountancy qualification.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Assessments will take place on 30 May and interviews will be held on 6 June 2023.
