Cyber Risk Research Associate


PureCyber, headquartered in Cardiff, is an established industry leader, providing a complete and unique range of cyber security solutions for businesses of any size and sector, in any location around the world.


In partnership with Swansea University, we are looking to recruit a Cyber Risk Research Associate to join our team in our Cardiff office on a one-year term project.


The role will be researching and developing a cyber security product/cyber risk management tool to provide adequate information and measures to insurance companies so that cyber security policies can be more accurate and effective for both the insurer and business being insured.

Main Duties


  • Develop a research project to gain insight into the risk insurance and cyber security landscape.
  • Analysing trends and identifying commercial products and service development opportunities in the cyber insurance market.
  • Collaborate with PureCyber departments to identify the key steps businesses can take to reduce to mitigate the risk of cyber-attack.
  • To assess and identify potential commercial opportunities for a PureCyber product or service development to offer to businesses and insurance providers across the UK.
  • Prepare and analyse data, reports and papers presenting results and ideas, both confidential and for publication.


Person Specification


Essential criteria:


  • A degree qualification
  • A keen interest in the cyber security and/or insurance industry
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies
  • A demonstrable ability to conduct research in line with the objectives of the project
  • Attention to detail, good organisational and communication skills
