Role Overview & Responsibilities

Time 4 U Limited are looking for a new Housing Support Officer to work within a busy supported living organisation, delivering support and advice to vulnerable adults within the community.

Full Training will be provided.

* Essential* - Driving License

A position will be offered on a permanent basis and you will be reporting to the Housing Manager.

Day to date duties include:

- Deliver excellent support to residents in the area of identifying and applying for welfare benefits they might qualify for, i.e., Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Council Tax Reductions or Exemptions.

- Assist residents in the area of sustaining their tenancy agreements and meeting rent obligations through offering support with applying for Housing Benefit, Universal Credit or Discretionary Housing Payment.

- To liaise with the DWP and Local Authorities on behalf of the residents, where required, to progress their claims.

- To visit the residents and offer on-going regular support in the area of budgeting, utility bills management and to offer information or signposting for debt management.

- To maintain awareness of developments in relation to Welfare Reform and Benefit legislation, policy and regulation.

- To deal with correspondence, maintenance of records and files while ensuring the internal processes, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to.

Salary: Up to £24,500.00 per year
