Role Overview & Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified or newly qualified clinical or counselling psychologists to join our team and develop their clinical skills and multidisciplinary team working in a supportive environment across a range of settings. These posts will involve working with patients and teams from a range of clinical specialities, although each post will have a focus in one or two areas. The areas that we are looking to recruit to include: post Covid hub; Chronic Pain; Mobility and Specialised Rehabilitation; Hearing Services; Bariatric Surgery and Cystic Fibrosis.

These posts will involve drawing upon a range of clinical models to provide psychological assessment and intervention to patients presenting with a range of physical health conditions. Excellent communication skills are required to promote psychologically informed care within medical teams. The successful post holder would be able to develop MDT links and team working within some specified services. Some of these services also have inpatient work as part of the role. This is a varied role which will support skill development within the speciality of Clinical Health Psychology.

You would be supported by a Principal Clinical Psychologist in the role.

The post holders will be required to work across the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital, with the possibility of other sites and some home working required.
