The role will focus on the design and management of a diverse range of projects (including health, education, commercial, custodial, residential). You will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical and commercial structural solutions to a range of clients across the UK.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Structural analysis & design of steel buildings and superstructures to both Eurocodes and British Standards
  • Concept and detailed design using Finite Element Structural analysis and design software
  • Design, coordination and management of resources
  • Managing a large variety of projects in terms of size, type and complexity
  • Undertaking stakeholder engagement including clients, contractors and end-users
  • Participating in business development activities and proposal writings
  • Responsible for framework cost management, consultancy, feasibility, design, project management, construction and contract management in relevant field
  • Provides expert judgement where appropriate
  • Assist with bid proposals/preparation and client presentations
  • Supervise team of engineers and technicians ensuring projects are delivered to the requisite quality, on time and on budget
  • Keeps abreast of new developments and cascades information
  • Responsible for ensuring that they and their team understand and adhere to all Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures

About You

The successful candidate will lead a group of talented Structural Engineers in London.

You will take a lead role in shaping and nurturing emerging talent.

You must be able to take initiative, and work collaboratively across multiple disciplines.

Your key objective in this role will be to deliver exceptional design.

Key Requirements:
  • M.Eng/MSc degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, accredited by the ICE or IStructE
  • Good knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Experience in day-to-day control of programming, planning and costs
  • Thorough knowledge of all types of structural designs (concrete / steel / timber / masonry etc)
  • Experience in clash detection and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Competency in using Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds and STAAD Pro softwares
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, BIM360
  • Good verbal communication – able to discuss work, coach and supervise employees
  • Ability to develop effective team management skills
  • Team player and self-motivated
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Business development and proposal writing experience
