About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Dispute Resolution, Employment and Immigration Team as a Paralegal focusing on the full range of employment disputes, advising on day-to-day queries as well as some general commercial litigation.

In this role you will assist with various ad hoc projects and training whilst supporting the business with employment claims, preparing and reviewing documents as well as reviewing legal documents and working with key stakeholders.

You will be

  • Supporting on Employment Tribunal claims and occasionally with general litigation matters, including drafting, disclosure and inspection requirements, preparing trial bundles, liaising with witnesses, preparing for hearings and attending final hearings (virtual or in-person);

  • Ensuring key dates are met;

  • Supporting on employment law matters relevant to ongoing business projects and contributing to any review of internal policies and procedures;

  • Providing day-to-day employment law advice to the business on a broad range of employment law related issues, including advising on contractual terms and policy, performance management, attendance management, disciplinary matters, grievance procedures and terminations;

  • Staying abreast of changes to employment law that may impact the business and support any change related activity; and

  • Conducting legal research

About you

  • Law degree or alternative legal qualification

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or similar

  • An interest in employment law

  • Ability to conduct legal research

  • Ability to analyse and present data and information simply and clearly

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Ability to work well within a team environment and build relationships

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Self-starter who can work autonomously and solve problems

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload

Desirable:

  • Work experience either in a law firm or an in-house legal team

  • Knowledge of all aspects of employment law, in particular litigation in the Employment Tribunals

  • Completion of the Legal Practice Course
