The role of the Staff Nurse in HMP Kilmarnock is very diverse and you will be involved the delivery of safe, effective, person centered care whilst contributing to improving health outcomes for this vulnerable patient group by; supporting patients with the management of long term conditions including the delivery of palliative care, responding to medical emergencies, the triaging of minor illnesses/injuries, delivering health promotion advice, administration of medication.

You will work as part of an extensive multidisciplinary team within the Health Centre in HMP Kilmarnock in partnership with the General Practitioners, Mental Health and Addiction Service.

You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to caring for patients, many of whom have often suffered significant trauma, within a secure environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate current thinking in relation to both Primary and Emergency Care and a willingness to respond positively to change. The successive candidate must be innovative, enthusiastic and flexible and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

You will possess Registered Adult Nurse qualification and currently be registered with the NMC. Applicants require to be educated to a minimum of degree level/or demonstrate relevant clinical experience.

<br>37.5 hours permanent post.
