Role Overview & Responsibilities
Reporting to the product manager, as an apprentice you will be working within the Assembly Team as a flexible resource carrying out a range of duties involved in the assembly of gates/barriers/poles/electrical control panels as required.
Job Duties
- Assembling, wiring, repairing and testing of mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment on our range of products.
- Using hand/crimp/soldering/power tools.
- Crimping, looming and cable terminating work on control panels.
- Accurately numbering, crimping and stripping of various cables.
- Liaise with stores to get required stock for projects.
- Working to instructions and/or wiring diagrams/drawings.
- General assembly tasks.
- Ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are met including: equipment checks; wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment; following safety protocols; proactively reporting any concerns or risks; participating in training and risk assessments as required.
- Work towards completion of Electrical Apprenticeship.
Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours
- Ability to read and understand technical/wiring drawings.
- Interest in Engineering.
- Experience of using tools.
- Demonstrate a commitment to on-going learning and personal development.
- A good communicator who works well in a team environment.
- Enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload.
- An awareness of health and safety.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Driving Licence.
- Flexible to work overtime/weekends.
