Role Overview & Responsibilities

Marathon Belting Ltd are recruiting for a skilled Mechnical Fitter.

We are a specialist manufacturer of heavy industrial textiles. Our processes have been recognised, and we have received the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement.

Due to continued growth and substantial orders for the future, we are looking to increase our Engineering Team. This is a valued and integral part of the company as we are heavily reliant on machinery operating and the plant functioning at optimal levels.

About you

· You will have a good all -round understanding of mechanical processes and functionality of industrial machinery

· Experience and confidence to work on both old and new machinery

· Flexible attitude, with the ability to adjust to production fluctuations

· Confident to work alone and with support where necessary

· Consideration of someone from a semi-skilled background will be considered, albeit from an engineering or manufacturing background

The Job

· Setup, repair and maintain equipment

· Manual turning and milling experience would be a distinct advantage

· Tig or Arc welding skills

· Ability to strip and repair gearboxes

· Confident to manage your own workload

· Work within a small engineering team and support each other on daily basis with breakdown and repairs

· Be able to read engineering and technical drawings

Salary: £32,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
