Role Overview & Responsibilities

The opportunity

Project: This opportunity is for a seconded role with Hampshire County Council (HCC) as an Interior Designer / Workplace Consultant. If you would like to be considered as we progress with this position, please click to apply.

Working across a number of Interior Design, Office Accommodation and FF&E projects, including inputting on and / or managing several workplace strategy projects on behalf of HCC. Acting as the link between the client and other key stakeholders across the organisation and external clients to HCC. This role will be focused within public sector and will be working on projects such as estate rationalization, office refurbishment, delivering FF&E packages of work and signage strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluating how client organisations currently work, including undertaking utilisation studies
Space planning and interior design with a focus on post-pandemic office spaces and future ways of working
Facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops and focus groups at all levels across organisations
Inputting on client and project wellbeing strategies
Advising the client of any key decisions required and obtain authorisation via regular reporting
Setting up and chairing regular project progress meetings with various project stakeholders inputting on the project including client IT, FM, cost and communications representatives and report on weekly updates
Inputting on significant relocation and communication programmes
Change management and organisational transformation, including culture change
Managing and analysing client staff surveys, which support the development of data driven proposals that input on the workplace strategy
Sustainability and wellbeing strategies on projects
About you

You are confident in the development and presentation of designs (utilizing AutoCAD and SketchUp software) and proposals, hosting workshops and managing a project team to deliver on the workplace strategy and office accommodation change. Can build lasting client relationships and lead and play an important part of strong, motivated teams. Proven experience working with public sector clients in the workplace consultant / space planning capacity. You will have a design background and have awareness of the political sensitivities of working within the public sector / local authority setting.
