Role Overview & Responsibilities
Established in 1992, M & S Engineering Limited is a family–run business with 40 employees based at Eastriggs, near Annan. The company is experienced in all aspects of the fabrication and erection of mild and stainless-steel structures.
We are seeking to employ Fabrication & Welding Apprentices to work in our busy workshop environment.
You will be trained in all aspects of steel fabrication and welding over a 4-year period, including 2 days per week at college for the initial 2 years.
Other duties will include cutting, drilling, grinding, polishing, cleaning, and various other metal fabrication works. Site work may also be required from time to time.
The ideal candidate should be a keen learner, have good communication skills and be able to work alone or as part of a team under guidance. Computer literacy is an advantage to ensure portfolio work is completed to timescale. An interest in Engineering would also be an advantage.
Hours - 37.5 per week, plus overtime and weekend work.
Salary – Apprentice rate with increases over stages of completion. Overtime paid at 1.33%.
