Solutions Manager
The Corporate Risk and Investment Solutions (CRIS) team was formed in 2021 in order to maximize M&G's competitive advantage as both asset owner (Insurer) and asset manager. Part of its remit is to design and deliver innovative insurance products/solutions for Defined Benefit pension schemes.
Due to ongoing success and a strong opportunity set, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas. This particular role is London-based and will help support the development, marketing and implementation of new solutions . The successful candidate will have a particular focus on client delivery and communications, as well as internal stakeholder and project management. However, commensurate with their experience, skill set, and interests they will be involved in diverse projects and have the opportunity to shape the development of their role as products are launched and the team grows.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Work closely with directors to develop the route to market for different products, building strong relationships with internal relationship managers, clients, and intermediaries
- Build an in-depth knowledge of the range of M&G solutions in order to be able to identify and design solutions across a range of client profiles
- Own the production of client deliverables, responding to internal and external queries, drafting internal papers and carrying out ad hoc analysis
- Work closely with Investment, Finance, Risk, Legal and Operations teams to integrate commercial, pricing and structuring workstreams into all aspects of product development
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Motivated to develop an in-depth understanding of pension de-risking, insurance and investment solutions and innovations
- Market aware – keeps abreast of Regulatory changes and developments in the DB world. E.g., superfunds, Capital Backed Journey Plans
- Experience of Investment Strategy Reviews, understanding of the interaction between Target Returns, Discount rates and journey planning
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high quality client deliverables
- Ambitious and self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative/prioritize workload to strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills, ability to understand & capture client needs and manage internal stakeholders
- Good numeracy and analytical skills
- Degree Educated
- 5 – 7 years’ experience working in a client facing/solutions role in DB pensions or investments, ideally in consulting or Fiduciary Management. Ideally part of a team that provides strategic advice to pension schemes through the various stages of their journey plan
- Actuarial / quantitative background desirable. Sponsorship of actuarial or CFA exams available
