Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic new member to join the central IT services (ISS) at Lancaster University to play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of events and IT support services.

Working at the University offers attractive incentives in the form of our flexible benefits scheme and a package of family-friendly work-life balance policies, alongside 25 days annual leave and University closure days at Christmas and Easter. There is also a wide range of continuing professional development offerings the successful candidate will be able to take advantage of.

As an IT Events Engineer you will be part of a team of IT and AV specialist engineers delivering second line support to users of the University’s digital services with a focus on supporting audio visual requirements for events and learning spaces. Alongside supporting key University events such as Graduation Ceremonies, you will work both with internal and external clients to deliver various technical aspects of events, as directed, across campus encompassing all elements of audio and video systems.

Applicants for this post must have experience of working in a team based IT service environment as well as experience of PC and AV systems. Experience of technical support of live events would be desirable. You will combine your Audio Visual, IT and problem solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure excellent customer service. A full, clean driving license is desirable and occasional out of hours work and weekends may be required in supporting Events.

Informal enquires about this role can be made to David Neal, Service Delivery Manager, d.neal@lancaster.ac.uk
