Role Overview & Responsibilities

H&B Wire Fabrications Ltd are the UK’s leading manufacturer & supplier of woven wire mesh. We are part of the worldwide Haver & Boecker group, which with over 125 years experience, means that we are part of one of the world's largest wire weaving companies with a global network of branches and manufacturing facilities.

We are currently looking to recruit a hard working enthusiastic individual to join a small works department of 3-4 people, manufacturing woven wire mesh screens to specified quality standards for industrial uses.

The position is full time and would suit a local person who is able to perform manual duties as outlined below:

  • Job title: Weaver, machine operator & general factory duties.
  • Duties: Crimping wires, setting up looms, weaving, accurately cropping & bending screens, spot-welding and other general factory duties. Experience of operating the following would be useful but not essential as full training will be given: wire weaving loom, crimping machine, spot welder, guillotine, press brake, bending machine, angle grinders, drills and miscellaneous hand tools.
  • Skills & abilities: Numeracy, literacy, manual dexterity, patience, organisation, time management, self-motivated, reliable. The ability to work to fine tolerances in both imperial and metric measurements is essential. The successful candidate will be working as part of a male team.
  • Health: This is a physical job so a good level of all-round fitness is required. Some of the work involves lifting and moving heavy panels.
  • General: A friendly manner with the ability to work within a small team as well as on your own is essential.
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7.30 am – 5.00 pm Friday: Closed
  • Wages: £10.50 per hour, plus task related incentives annually.
  • Holidays: 4 weeks
  • Benefits: Discretionary annual bonus. Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme. Free on-site parking
