Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Full UK/EU driving licence – minimum 1 year’s driving experience
  • Basic computer/system skills
  • Airport experience in a ramp and/or spur environment for a minimum of 6 months within the last 2 years
  • Safety driven with the ability to maintain a safe and secure working environment
  • Pre-employment checks - ability to achieve successful completion of the referencing (checkable 5 year employment/education history) and criminal record check procedures to meet dnata and CAA security regulations, and a satisfactory medical report.

Job Summary:

  • Confident leadership and coaching skills with the ability to understand the objectives of the role and have a plan on how to achieve them with your team ensuring each team member performs to their maximum potential, offering guidance throughout
  • To oversee that the team behave in a safe and professional manner at all times
  • Responsible for the loading, unloading and baggage product of the aircraft and completion of all documentation
  • Ensure baggage is handled safely and effectively and within all airlines Standard Operating Procedures
  • Have an understanding of the requirements of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for pharmaceutical and medicinal products and be aware of the Responsible Person (RP) handling pharmaceutical and medicinal products
  • Ensure Equipment Care (especially EBT charging) to maximise equipment availability
  • Maintaining the integrity of the accident area in the event of personal and vehicle accidents.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post

Hours of work:

  • 40 hours per week - The main roster pattern is a ‘6 days on, 3 days off’ pattern with a mixture of early and late shifts with the earliest start time expected to be from 04:00 and the latest finish time is expected to be up to 23:00 approximately. On an all lates roster, it is expected you would be required to work between 13:30 and 23:00 approximately. Some flexibility will be required.

Salary:

  • £37,000 circa per annum, inclusive of basic pay, allowances, and benefits.
