The Library Services Co-Ordinator will raise the standards across CCLs l through focused delivery and development of academic skills and resources, that positions CCL as the provider of choice for online higher education. The Library Services Co-Ordinator will demonstrate experience and understanding of delivering high quality innovative information, skills and enquiries services to meet the needs of Corndel's degree apprenticeship students.

Key duties will be managing the provision of academic content to degree apprenticeship students, by working closely with the programme tutors and Corndel’s degree apprenticeship team, and delivering information skills teaching to these students, supporting Corndel’s aims for academic achievement.

You will be responsible for:

• Academic liaison with the academic team/relevant tutors, providing information, advice and guidance to ensure the selection and provision of appropriate resources.
• Planning and producing teaching and learning materials to support the digital literacy and study skills of degree students.
• Leading the delivery of appropriate induction, information and digital literacy training for degree students.

• Providing online teaching sessions in relation to developing digital library skills, assignment support and advertising new resources and offering one-to-one support appointments to students for research and referencing queries where required.
• Leading on the provision of an enquiries service to degree students, troubleshooting library related queries and online access issues regarding resources such as eBooks and journals.
• Delivering academic content through purchasing, licensing and digitising required resources.
• Maintaining metadata records in an appropriate system and ensuring new stock is correctly represented.
• Liaising with a wide range of suppliers to survey and acquire online resources and to manage system issues relating to set up, integration, metadata and authentication.

• Regularly reviewing digital content and systems, processing licence renewal and providing usage data for analytics.
• Ensuring that core library systems and online academic collections are working effectively, using appropriate authentication and SSO solutions.
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with other academic and professional support units of the organisation as appropriate.
• Make a major contribution to the organisation’s online learning in the area of degree apprenticeships, utilising innovative developments and tools and integrating them into the service where appropriate.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential Criteria Required:

• Practical experience of providing excellent customer service and effective library support to users in an academic library (or equivalent)
• Practical experience of delivering information skills training to students
• Demonstrated experience in development of digital teaching materials in information skills delivery

• Demonstrated experience of working with online library resources
• Experience of working with library systems and their corresponding online platforms
• Experience of working with and meeting performance targets
• Ability to work productively with initiative and drive output within timescales whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
• Proficient communication and presentation skills

• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload
• Strong coaching ability and colleague development
• Well-developed interpersonal and motivational skills
• Able to achieve deadlines and targets
• Good Microsoft Office skills

• Experience of remote working
• Ability to use Skype for business

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in Apprentice Standards delivery

• Experience in coaching, colleague training and development
• Experience in curriculum development
• Experience in project management

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

Essential Criteria Required:

• Degree or equivalent or comparable experience

• Evidence of continuing professional development with willingness to engage in further training as required

Desirable Criteria:

• Post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Science or another relevant discipline
• Proven contribution of current contribution to the UK Library and Information sector
• Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or higher) or adult teaching qualification (CTLLS/PTLLS/DTLLS or AET/CET/DET)

• Knowledge of online information resources and their appropriate applications
• Knowledge of current library trends in the education sector relating to the use of digital tools in teaching and skills support
• Analytical, problem solving and record keeping skills with keen attention to detail •
• Adaptability in order to be a flexible and energetic team player
