Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English and Maths Teacher Assistant to join our team at BT Academy. The successful candidate will work closely with the English and Maths Teachers to provide support and assistance to students in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the English and Maths teachers in planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons to Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students
  • Work with small groups of students to provide additional support and guidance in their English and Maths studies
  • Help to monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/carers
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal development of all students
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the English and Maths curricula
  • Support the English and Maths teachers in the preparation and marking of assessments and exams

Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Good knowledge of the English language, literature and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A patient and supportive approach to working with children
