The Role:

Working within the EASA Commercial Modifications Integrated Project Team (IPT), this role will report into Planning and Material Control manager within the Programme Management team and will be responsible for ensuring that all parts required meet a programme deliverable. Parts are to be clearly defined within all applicable databases for either being available within stock or required to have orders placed for them, to align with all delivery date requirements.

You will be proactive and forward thinking and work with all supporting departments to ensure a robust supply chain is in place to fulfil the requirements.

You will be a key participant within change board meetings and will advise on and determine as needed if the requested changes are to be accepted and when the incorporation would be.

You will be part of an IPT with an objective to deliver all materials required for multiple customer reconfiguration programmes. The extended team includes programme management, engineering, planning and asset management teams who share the same objectives.

You will provide feedback and solutions if issues or concerns arise that will jeopardise programme deliverables. You will establish and control the parts requirements in support of our projects and see them through to deliver to our customers.

This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate efficiently at all levels. You will need to have a good understanding and be able to read engineering drawings and bills of materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Asset Managers to ensure that the demand is placed (sales orders) for parts into ERP and ensure its accuracy to meet the project/customer requirements of each aircraft configuration variable.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing Team to ensure purchase orders are placed for parts within supplier lead times, and meet the project required delivery dates.
  • Work with the Asset Management Team to ensure that available stock is allocated to the project where available.
  • Support with the demand loading of long lead-time parts.
  • Ensure all system data is maintained and is accurate.
  • Monitor picking/packing/dispatch status.
  • Monitor with Supplier Management teams the supplier status.
  • Highlight risks, issues and opportunities at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Provide reporting of status and KPI’s as requested.
  • Be flexible to support our international teams with coordination.
  • Ensure Engineering requested parts are included within our contractual obligations.
  • Support other roles within the PM department, as necessary, to ensure successful delivery to our customers.
  • Able to travel in support of the work scope or training and development.

Work Authorisation:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the UK. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.

Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll. This position does not have relocation approval.

Required Experience:

This position would suit someone who has a minimum of 5 years applicable experience as a Material Controller / Scheduler within aerospace (preferred), automotive or other engineering and manufacturing environment.
